SIERRA-PACIFIC GROUP
Geologists+Engineers+Scientists+Compliance Specialists
April 6,2001
Mr. John Wotila
San Joaquin County Public Works Department
1810 East Hazelton
Stockton, California 95205
Subject: Encroachment Assurance Bonds,Proposed Monitoring Wells Located in East Stockton
Near the FormerPureGro Facility at 1905North BroadwayAvenue,Stockton,California:
Sierra-Pacific Project No. 94-055.02
Dear Mr. Wotila:
On behalf of Unocal, Sierra-Pacific Group (Sierra-Pacific)has proposed to install three nested monitoring
wells in the streets of east Stockton, south of Waterloo Road. Encroachment permit applications have been
sent to you. The permits applications, data table, and the attached location map each identified the proposed
well locations correctly. However, typographical errors were made on Sierra-Pacific's cover letter, which
subsequently resulted in location errors on two of the three financial assurance documents.
Michael Infurna,San Joaquin County Public Health Services, recently requested street-address locations for
each of the proposed new monitoring wells. Sierra-Pacific traveled to east Stockton on 4 April 2001 and
marked the street locations with white paint. Overhead power lines, underground utility easements, and
traffic issues influenced the locations of the proposed new wells. The amended locations are:
MW-15A/B Location
In the southbound lane of North Sutro Avenue, 225 feet south of the centerline of Waterloo Road.
Near 1845 North Sutro Avenue, Stockton, CA.
MW-16A/B Location
In the southbound lane of Myran Avenue, 225 feet south of the centerline of Lewis Street.
Near 1633 North Myran Avenue, Stockton, CA.
MW-17A/B Location
In the southbound lane of North Sutro Avenue, 225 feet south of the centerline of John Street.
Near 1527 North Sutro Avenue, Stockton, CA.
4911 Windplay Drive,Suite 4 E-Mail:mail@www.sierra-pacificgroup.com Phone:(916)933-1468
El Dorado Hills,CA 95762 Fax:(916)933-3197
