Approximately 27 feet of pelletized bentonite will <br /> be placed over the lower (93 to 110 feet bgs) column of filter sand. <br /> A second well casing, screened from about 45 to 65 feet bgs, will be installed above the column of <br /> bentonite pellets and chips. The upper screened interval will be packed with sand,as was the lower <br /> screen, from 43 to 66 feet bgs. Approximately five feet of bentonite chips will be placed above the <br /> upper sand pack. Portland cement grout will be then be placed in the annular space from the top of <br /> the bentonite plug to within 3 feet of the surface. Portland cement concrete will be placed within <br /> the upper 3 feet of the boring. A cast iron, heavy-duty, 12-inch-diameter Christy box will be <br /> installed into the street pavement and completed with Portland cement concrete. The cover will be <br /> flush with the pavement. <br /> Sierra-Pacific will have a project manager and site safety manager at the drill sites to minimize the <br /> risk of traffic accidents and pedestrian interference with work. A traffic control company will be <br /> contracted to assure traffic safety. USA will be contacted at least 72 hours prior to initiating the field <br /> work. A commercial utility finder will be contracted to search for buried utility structures in the <br /> work areas. <br /> ■ Nested-Well MW-16 A/B Installation-A nested monitoring well(MW-16 A/B)will be installed <br /> in the southbound lane of Myran Avenue, approximately 200 feet south of the intersection of <br /> Waterloo Road, Stockton, in the manner specified for well MW-15 A/B above. <br /> ■ Nested-Well MW-17 A/B Installation-A nested monitoring well (MW-17 A/B)will be installed <br /> in•the southbound lane of Sutro Avenue, approximately 200 feet south of the intersection of Lewis <br /> Street, Stockton, in the manner specified for well MW-15 A/B above. <br /> ■ Nested-Well MW-18 A/B Installation-A nested monitoring well(MW-18 A/B)will be installed <br /> in the southwest corner of the Western Farm Service facility at 1905 North Broadway Avenue, <br /> Stockton. Monitoring wells MW-16 A/B,MW-17 A/B,and MW-18 A/B will be installed the same <br /> as MW-15 A/B. <br /> ■ Pumping Well E-2 Installation-A new pumping well(E-2)will be installed approximately 20 feet <br /> south of MW-14 at 1836 North Sutro Avenue,Stockton. The new well will be constructed similarly <br /> to pumping well E-1,which was installed at the same Sutro Avenue address in November 2000. E-2 <br /> will be screened from 95 to 110 feet bgs. <br /> ■ Domestic Well Decommissioning -An old domestic well at 1836 North Sutro Avenue, Stockton <br /> will be decommissioned by removing the pump,well casing,and wiring from the well. The old well <br /> will be over-bored and grouted to the surface. Sierra-Pacific has no information on the old well. A <br /> report of results will be prepared to document the depth and construction of the well, as well as <br /> efforts made to decommission it. <br />
