' Ms. Laurie Cotulla I
June 1 , 1987
Page 3
will be measured with the PID. The PID measure-
ments in conjunction with field observations will
be used to select samples for laboratory analysis.
The results of these analyses will provide informa-
tion on the vertical and horizontal extent of
contamination in the sediments . One sample from
each well will be analyzed.
1
" Soil samples analyses for total hydrocarbons, benzene,
toluene and xylenes will be conducted using EPA
Method 5030/8020/8015 . Lead analysis will be conducted
using EPA Method 3050/7420.
" Subsequent to well installation, monitoring will be
conducted to record the depth to water and presence
of free floating product , if any. The groundwater
gradient will be determined from water levels
within the monitoring wells and surveyed well head
elevations.
One water sample will be obtained from each well and
analyzed for total hydrocarbons, benzene , toluene and
xylenes using a modified EPA Method 602 . Lead analysis
will also be conducted using EPA Method 3020/7421 .
A dissolved hydrocarbon plume map will be prepared
from the laboratory analytical results .
A free product plume map will be prepared from
monitoring results if free product is present .
As required , an application permit and filing fee for the
borings and installation of the monitoring wells are attached .
GTI intends to begin the drilling the week of June 8 , 1987 .
Al
