PRELIMINARY IIYDRQQEOLO IC AS E i a W RK PLA
» MOORE PETROLEUM, INC.
1399 E. YOSEMITE AVENUE
MANTECA, CALIFORNIA
DELTA PROJECT NO. 40-88-480
1.0 INTROp TIQN
Delta Environmental Consultan',s,Inc.(Delta)has prepared this work plan describing previous work
as well as the proposed hydrogeologic assessment to be performed at 1399 E. Yosemite Avenue in
Manteca, California, (site), Section 34, TIS, R7E, MDSM (Figure 1). This site assessment is in
response to the reported detection of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soils adjacent to the
underground storage tanks at the site.
It 1 Pur DbSe
The Phase I Site HydrogeoIogic Assessment will be undertaken to determine the fallowing:
o Evaluate the site hydrogeologic characteristics.
o Evaluate the horizontal and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil.
a Determine if ground water at the site contains any dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons.
- U Determine the depth to ground water and the direction of ground water flow
underlying the site.
'-'
o Determine the location of nearby waken-supply wells.
a Evaluate the need for additional assessment or remedial activities.
IZc fwrk
To accomplish these objectives, the following activities are proposed:
a Review available geologic and hydrogeologic data pertinent to the site.
o Drill two standard-penetration, hollow-stem auger soil borings.
o Complete two soil borings as monitoring wells.
_ 9 Classify soils according to the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS).
o Screen containerized soil samples with a portable photoionization detector for total
organic vapors.
o Select soil samples from each boring to be sent to the laboratory according to soil-
screening results.
