This site assessment consisted of the drilling
of four soil borings, installation of one monitoring well and the collection of soil and water samples
from the soil borings and monitoring well. The results of the work performed by ETS is presented
in the following sections.
2.1 ,oil Morins
Four soil borings were drilled by means of a hollow-stem auger to a maximum depth of 36 feet. Soil
samples were taken at five-foot intervals by means of a California modified split-spoon sampler.
Figure 2 shows the location of the soil borings and monitoring well. Boring logs for the soil borings
are presented in Appendix A.
Soil samples collected from the soil borings were analyzed by a California-certified laboratory nor
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylones (BTEX), 1,2-dichloroetbane (EDC), ethylene dibromide
(EDB)and total petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH)by EPA Method 524.2/8240. Results of the analyses
are summzrized in Table 1. Laboratory reports for soil analyses are presented in Appendix B.
As shown in Table 1 TPH Ievels are less than I00 ppm for all soil samples. BTEX constituents are
found at low levels in all soil samples, with the highest values found in the 20-foot-depth sample
m, taken from MW-1. BTEX results from this sample were 0.05,0.03,0.42,and 1.6 ppm, respectively.
2.2 M1i0nitorina Well
Monitoring well (MW-1) was completed within the soil boring located immediately south of the
underground storage tanks(USTs). This well was constructed of 2-inch-diameter,Schedule 40 PVC
blank casing and 2-inch-diameter, Schedule 40 PVC well screen with 0.020-inch slots. The well
