Current activities, at the <br /> site include automotive fuel dispensing and automotive <br /> repairs. Two pump islands are located near the urrdergro,_trrd <br /> storage tanks. <br /> M 1. 1 PURPOSE <br /> The ourposra of this preliminary site assessment is to <br /> review the phase- of work cornpletred thus far to determine the <br /> v presence or absence of hydrocarbon contamination at the site. <br /> Samples of bath soil and groundwater wel-e collected to make <br /> this determi'rration. This assessment includes a section of <br /> recommendations for further field investigation. <br /> 1. 2 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The following scope of work was completed dii ing the <br /> preliminary investigation. <br /> - i. Drill, soil sample, tend log three soil borings to <br /> gr—rdwater and one to terr feet angled below a waste oil <br /> tcsrrk at the locations indicated on Figur^e 1-2. Sail <br /> - samples were tested for hydrocarbon constiturrnts using <br /> EPA method 4240 "Fuel Fingerprint" and TEL. <br /> 2. Continue one boring jppro>(irnately lr3 tc, 15 fee <br /> t below <br /> groundwater, as encountered, and eornplets tFre [�c,r ing as a <br /> well. MWI--1 wa.S installed to a total depth of 8 feet <br /> with 2---inch flush threaded PVC casing. R groundwater <br /> sample was collected and tested using EPA method 524.
