1
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring,Results of Verification
' Soil Borings, and Closure Request Report
Moore Petroleum, 1399 E Yosemite,Ave,Manteca,CA
July 1, 1996
t Page 2
fines were removed from the subject site
' In June 1990, Nations Groundwater Associates of Sacramento, California, supervised the
abandonment of MW-1 The well had been damaged during the removal of the UST's in
September 1989 Monitoring well MW-IA was then drilled and installed approximately
10 feet east of the former location of MW-1, and was completed as a 2-mch diameter well
to a depth of approximately 36 5 feet(bs)
' Aegis Environmental, Inc of Roseville, California(Aegis)began a program of
groundwater monitonng beginning m February 1991 In June 1991, Aegis installed
' monitoring wells MW-1B, MW-4 and MW-5 on site Wells MW-4 and MW-5 were
completed as 4-mch diameter casing to a depth of 35 feet below grade WellMW-1B was
completed with a 6-mch diameter casing by"aver-coring"the former MW-1A
' On October 22, 1992, Aegis performed a short duration vapor extraction pilot test
utilizing a Remediation Service International(RSI) internal combustion engine to extract
soil vapors from MW-1B Radius of influence measurements indicated measurable
vacuum readings at each of the four other monitoring wells with the exception of MW-4
It was concluded that vapor extraction would capture the extent of hydrocarbon
' constituents in soil at the site
• In April of 1993, Aegis installed and started a RSI unit at the subject site extracting soil
' vapors from MW-1B This wit operated intermittently through October of 1993, at which
tune the unit was removed from the subject site
' Monitoring well MW-6 was installed by Aegis in April of 1993 MW-6 was complete as a
4-mch diameter monitoring well and was drilled to a total depth of 36 5 feet bs
' Towards the end of 1993, LMH Environmental, Inc (LMH or Citrus Heights, California
was assigned consultant to the project
' Apex began work on the project following the groundwater monitoring conducted on
January 21, 1994, by LMH
• In December 1994, Apex installed another RSI vapor extraction unit at the subject site to
removed the remammg petroleum constituents from soil in the vicinity of the former UST
location Soil vapors were extracted from both monitoring well MW-113 and a horizontal
pipe located within the former tank basin labeled as "HORIZ" The unit operated through
March of 1995, at which time, soil vapor concentrations decreased to a point at which the
RSI unit was replaced with an electric blower and carbon drums The carbon system was
