tf (M
Fourth Quarter 1995 Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring&Remediation Status Report
Moore Petroleum,Inc, 1399 E Yosenute Ave,Manteca,CA
November 15, 1995
Page 3
' The system was shutdown on March 21, 1995 due to low influent hydrocarbon levels The R S 1
unit was replaced with a 160 standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM)regenerative type blower
which extracts soil vapors from either monitoring well MW-1B or a section of underground
horizontal piping (HORIZ) and filters the vapors through two in-line 2001b carbon absorption
filters prior to atmosphenc release The carbon absorption vapor extraction system was started
' on July 5, 1995 and operated continuously through August 4, 1995, at which time vapor
hydrocarbons concentrations fell below laboratory detection limits
Currently, the vapor extraction system is in a pulse mode where the system is turned on and vapor
readings are recorded with a flame ionization detector(FID) on a monthly basis If petroleum
concentrations are zero on the FID, then the system is turned off The purpose of this monthly
' pulsing is to extract any remaining hydrocarbon vapors in the surrounding soils, if any System
operating data are contained m Table 2 of Attachment 3 Table 3 of Attachment 3 contains
calculated daily extraction rates based on laboratory analytical reports for the vapor extraction
' system. Table 4A in Attachment 3 contains system pulse data from August 15, 1995, Table 4B
contains system pulse data from September 19, 1995 and Table 4C contains system pulse data
from October 16, 1995 Attachment 4 contains vapor extraction system sample calculations
RECOMMENDATIONS
' All six monitoring well groundwater samples have not contained detectable levels of TPK as
gasoline, or BTEX for the last two quarters All six on-site wells will be quarterly sampled for 2
more quarters If quarterly sampling results remain below laboratory detection hmits for TPH, as
gasoline, and BTEX, Apex will then request site closure
1
1
1
