Work Description
October 10, 2007
Subject: Installing 10 piezometers for groundwater depth readings
Depth: 20 feet
Site: Empire Tract and West Eight Mile Road
Location: 13520 West Eight Mile Road, Stockton, CA
Kleinfelder is planning on installing 10 piezometers to a depth of about 20 feet
below site grade along Empire Tract Road at the west end of West Eight Mile
Road and along West Eight Mile Road to Lower Sacramento Road in Stockton,
California. The 20-foot-deep piezometers will be drilled using a Simco 2400 truck
mounted drill rig with continuous, 4'/2-inch diameter, solid-stem auger. 2-inch
diameter PVC-pipes will be used for casing. The pipes in the upper 5 feet are
going to be solid pipes with perforated pipe below that depth. Around the pipes in
the bottom 15 feet will be filled with sand and the upper 5 feet, around the solid
pipe, will be grouted. Upon the completion of our readings in approximately 12
months, the holes will be grouted with neat cement. It should be noted that
groundwater is expected to be around 45 feet deep in the general area. We
anticipate that groundwater will be encountered in our 20 feet bore holes near
Empire Tract.
Thank you
Saeed Parsa
Staff Engineer
Kleinfelder West, Inc.
Attachment: Site Map.
