All other related dewatering
activities have ceased within this area and by Friday, September 24`",the operation of the remaining
three wells also will cease.
In accordance with the NOA,monitoring no longer is required when there are no dewatering activities
within the specified 1,000 ft area. However,CDM will continue to collect readings from the
piezometer data loggers up to the morning of Tuesday,September 28u`when Klienfelder is scheduled to
begin the well abandonment process. This process is expected to take two days. The abandonment of
the piezometers must be completed by midnight September 3&as they are located within an area that
is considered habitat for the Giant Garter Snake, and the project EIR requires all activities in GGS
habitat must be completed by October I".
CDM respectfully requests that your office approve Klienfelder's request for the issuance of a
conditional San Joaquin County permit in order to allow the abandonment process to be completed
prior to the October 1 deadline. CDM will provide an additional letter prior to well abandonment to
confirm that the dewatering activities has ceased as scheduled.
Respectfully,
Mark R.Andrews
Senior Project Manager—DWSP Pipelines
CDM Constructors Inc.
i
Oowmenl wEe '...
