Hydrocarbon fuels - Components of fuels are colorless liquids with strong aromatic <br />petroleum hydrocarbon -like odors. They are flammable and have low solubility in water. <br />Exposure to these materials in excess of recommended exposure limits can cause mild eye, <br />nose, and throat irritation and can produce a narcotic effect on the .central nervous system. <br />Symptoms of exposure at these concentrations include headache, nausea, drowsiness, <br />dizziness, and loss of coordination. Certain components of gasoline (BTE&X etc.) are known <br />or suspected carcinogens. <br />The additional potential hazards include: Slip -trip -fall hazards. noise—heayy equipment i.e. <br />Geoprobe rig), vibration hazards, traffic hazards. etc. <br />5.0.
