Box 1200
Stockton,CA 95201-1200
Subject: Limited Subsurface Site Investigation
HICKINBOTHAM BROS.,LTD.
635 South Aurora Street,Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Bovee:
In accordance with your request Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) conducted a limited
subsurface site investigation at 635 South Aurora Street, Stockton, California (the site).
The objective of the investigation was to determine the lateral and vertical extent of hydrocarbon-
impacted and metals-impacted soil at the site. The scope of work included the advancement of seven
soil probe borings;the collection and analysis of soil samples. The location of the site is illustrated
on Figure 1 -Location Map. Structures, probe boring and soil sample locations are shov,,n on Figure
2-Site Plan..Background information and a summary of previous investigation at the site is included
in the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, dated 12 March 1997 and Site Investigation Work
Plan, dated 30 June 1997, both prepared by AGE.
On 07 and 10 July 1997 a total of seven soil probe borings were advanced at the site. Soil samples
were collected in the area of the former USTs, adjacent to the inactive hydraulic vehicle lifts and
inside the main building on the site. Selected samples were transported under chain-of-custody
procedure to McCampbell Analytical, Inc. (MAI) and analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons
quantified as gasoline and diesel, volatile aromatics (benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes:
BTE&X),total recoverable petroleum hydrocarbons(TRPH)and CCR 17 metals(TTLC and STLC)
in accordance with the EPA methods 5030/8015m, 8020,418.1 and 60101200.7.
No petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in any of the analyzed soil samples. Concentrations of
several were detected in the soil sample collected from the main building on the site. However,
concentrations of all soluble (STLC) metals were below regulatory action levels. Copies of the
analytical results, including chain-of-custody forms, are attached.
4005 North Wilson Way,Stockton,California 95205
Telephone(209)467-1006 FAX(209)467-1118
