SrUSH GEOSCIE qt'.'
I N C O R , P ,I l
GEOLOGICAL AND ENVIRON`giENTALq SE`R;VIP '
4
f{i
4
January 15, 1997
Job #605-002
i
Ms. Mary F. Meays
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
304 East Weber Avenue
Stockton, California 95202
f
Subject: JC Trucking Site
Stockton, California i
Dear Ms. Meays:
In confirmation of our earlier meeting, I have attacfied information regarding the status
1
of the JC Trucking Site. As you are aware, drilling at the site occurred on January 8; we
proceeded in full belief that-everything was in compliance with P'HSEHD guidelines and that
you were aware of the proposed date. We regret the fact tliLt errors in communication were
made which led to this confusion.
Four soil borings were advanced by TEG. Each boring extended to depths of 42 to 43 {
ft, which coincided with groundwater entering the boringsgrodwater stabilized at a depth of
approximately 35 ft below surface grade. Bill Welter has told me that he attempted to
communicate with you several times after the drilling to discuss the drilling and sample
selection. He has submitted three samples from each boring to the laboratory, which included
samples from 15 ft, 26 ft, and 3.6 ft below surface grade, except-in the fourth b6rirrg-where two
samples were selected from 25 Rand 31 ft below grade. A. water sample was collected from
the first boring. Additional samples from all intervals are available at my office under
refrigeration. The borings included one near the center of each flank location and two in the
area between the tanks. Since Bili has handled the field work at 1hrs site, he has the boring
logs, map, and other data at his house, where he often telec:ommutes from, while he is on
vacation in the Lake Tahoe area. They are therefore unavailable to me at this time.
Appropriate maps, logs, and field records will be forwarded by fax as soon as they are
available.
i
3560 BUSINESS DRIVE, SUITE 120 SACRAMENTO, CA 95820 (916) 737-9294 FAX (916) 737-9298
