Tablet
Leaching Potential Analysis for Gasoline
Using Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons(TPH)
and Benzene, Toluene, Xylene and Ethylbenzene (BTX&E)
The following table was designed to permit estimating the concentrations
of TPH and BTX&E that can be left in place without threatening ground
water. Three levels of TPH and BTX&E concentrations were derived (from
modeling) for sites which fall into catagories of low, medium or high
leaching potential. To use the table, find the appropriate description
for each of the features. Score each feature using the weighting system
shown at the top of each column. sum the points for each c:oZumn and total
them. Match the total points to the allowable BTX&E and TPH levels.
S SCORE S SCORE S SCORE
SITE C 10 PTS C 9 PTS C 5 PTS
0 IF CON- 0 IF CON_ Q IF CON-
i FEATURE R DITION R DITION R DITION
1 .W E IS MET E IS MET E IS MET
LL M__i__n__irrmum Depth to >100 51-]OG, 25-50\1
Greund Water from the ,
Soil Sample (feet)
- Fractures .in subsurface None Unknown Present
1 (applies tv foothills 10
or mountain areas)
Average Annual <14 10-25 26-40\Z
Precipitation (inches).
f Man-made conduits which (done Unknown Present
increase vertical 10
j migration of leachate
Unique site features: None .
