TRC <br /> Customer-Focused Sc4utions <br /> November 22, 2000 Project No.:98-288 <br /> Mr. John Fleming <br /> The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company <br /> 1776 West March Lane,Suite 445 <br /> Stockton,California 9522 <br /> Transmittal <br /> Proposal for Downgradient Ground Water Monitoring Services <br /> Evaporation Pond and Oil Water Separator <br /> Stockton Intermodal Facility <br /> Dear Mr. Fleming: <br /> In the Waste Discharge Requirements(WDRs) for the subject facility, the Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board - Central Valley Region (RWQCB) requires the installation <br /> of three downgradient ground water monitoring wells.TRC is pleased to submit the <br /> following proposal for performing the required ground water monitoring services- <br /> Task I -Workplan Preparation <br /> The Ground Water Monitoring Workplan required in the WDRs has already been <br /> prepared by TRC as verbally authorized by Mr- John Chavez with I3NSF on July 25, <br /> 2000. The draft workplan was submitted to the RWQCB for review and comment on <br /> October 19,2000-The RWQCB provided their comments on November 14,2000. We <br /> are currently working with the RWQCB to address their comments and obtain their <br /> approval of the workplan. <br /> Task 2•Field Work and Laboratory Analyses <br /> Three downgradient ground water monitoring wells will be installed to completion depths <br /> of approximately 95 feet below ground surface (bgs). The monitoring wells will be <br /> constructed of 2-inch diameter, Schedule 40 PVC blank and slotted casing. The slotted <br /> casing (slot size of 0.020 inch) will be 20 feet in length and wilt be placed 10 feet into the <br /> ground water. The slotted casing will be connected to blank casing which will extend to <br /> the ground surface.
