Preacquisition Environmental Site Assessment March 17, 1992
Anheuser-Busch, Arch Road, Stockton, California 10
The Appendix IX metal analyses detected in the soil samples include barium, chromium, cobalt,
copper, mercury, nickel, tin, vanadium, and zinc (Table 3). For comparison purposes, none of the
metals concentrations are above the total threshold limit concentration (TTLC) values (22 CCR
66261.24). A possible source for the metals was not discovered during this investigation. Due to
project time constraints, background levels of metals in soils in the area of the subject site were not
researched.
6.4 Test Pit Excavation Activities
As part of the assessment activities conducted at the site, Groundwater Technology was contracted
to supervise test in excavations near the major footing locations and heavy equipment storage pads
of the proposed building. The purpose of the test excavations was to look for any sign of
contamination or other hazards that might be encountered during building construction.
On March 11, 1992, fourteen test pits were excavated to a minimum depth of 5 feet below grade
(Figure 2). A Groundwater Technology geologist supervised the excavation activities and observed
for any signs of buried objects, contamination, or other hazards. The test pits were back-filled with
the native material and compacted after it was determined that no signs of contamination existed in
the hole.
All fourteen test pits showed no sign of buried objects, contamination, or other hazards.
