This
site is currently monitored under Cleanup and Abatement Order (CAO) No. R-5-2007-0709,
issued 30 April 2007, and several site wells are currently monitored on a quarterly basis.
Due to the recent initiation of offsite remediation to protect a sensitive receptor (San Joaquin
County Service Area 31, Well 2) located 500 feet away from the MTBE plume, it is necessary to
continue quarterly monitoring to evaluate the effectiveness of the recently started remedial
systems and to protect the receptor. The monitoring changes approved by Regional Water
Board staff letter dated 24 February 2009 for CAO R5-2007-0709 remain in effect. We will
revisit this decision by evaluating further reductions in monitoring after our receipt and review of
future quarterly reports.
If you have any questions or comments, you may call me at (916) 464-4615 or email me at
ibarton cr.waterboards.ca.gov.
JAMES L.L.
