Work is being performed on behalf of Pioneer at the site in response to Central Valley <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board(RWQCB)letters dated March 20, 1996 and May 14, 1996. <br /> off-site monitoring well MW-5 was apparently damaged by farm equipment and cannot be gauged or sampled in <br /> the current condition. IT is proposing to overdrill the current well and install a replacement well at the same <br /> location. <br /> The well will be removed and overdrilled using hollow-stem auger drilling equipment. The replacement well will <br /> he constructed of 2-inch diameter polyvinyl chloride casing.Every effort will be taken to remove the current <br /> sandpack from the borehole prior to installation of the replacement well. The previous well depth was 25 feet below <br /> the gr(xmd surface(BGS). The replacement well depth will be 30 feet BGS.The well screen will consist of 20-feet <br /> of 0.010-inch machine slotted casing set from approximately 10 to 30-fect BGS. <br /> The replacement well will be resurveyed and incorporated into the quarterly monitoring program. The next <br /> quarterly sampling event is currently-scheduled for August 24,2000. <br /> The soil and sand generated during the overdrilling will be characterized for disposal.
