INTRODUCTION <br /> This health and safety plan describes the procedures that shall be followed to protect the <br /> health and safety of employees engaged in fieldwork at the R.E. Services Company <br /> ' (RES) facility located at 500 South Beckman Road in Lodi, San Joaquin County, <br /> California. <br /> This health and safety plan has been developed to comply with applicable federal, state, <br /> and local health and safety requirements including California Occupational Safety and <br /> Health Administration's (Cal-OSHA) requirements contained in Title 8 of the California <br /> Code of Regulations, Section 5192 (8 CCR 5192) and federal OSHA requirements <br /> contained in Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 1910.120 (29 CFR <br /> 1910.120). <br /> The observance and practice of the health and safety procedures specified in this plan, <br /> and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations,pertaining to health <br /> and safety, are mandatory for all personnel and visitors. In the event of conflicting <br /> requirements,the procedures that provide the highest degree of required personal <br /> protection shall be implemented. <br /> A copy of the site health and safety plan shall be kept onsite and made available for <br /> inspection and review by employees, clients, agency personnel, and other visitors. <br /> Clayton understands that Environmental Control Associates, Inc. (ECA),under contract <br /> and at the direction of Clayton will advance seven(7) soil borings using direct push <br /> technology to obtain soil samples at the site. As such, Clayton will not be responsible for <br /> the health and safety of non-Clayton employees/contractors. However, Clayton will <br /> provide a copy of this health and safety plan to ECA and it should serve as a minimum <br /> ' level of protection for the performance of activities related to the onsite activities. <br /> ' 2. WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> The following is a brief description of the work activities to be performed at the site. <br /> 1. Shallow soil borings will be advanced at the subject property,to collect soil samples <br /> for laboratory analysis for TPH, VOCs and SVOCs. <br /> 2. Excavated soils will be screened visually and by using a photoionization detector to <br /> identify possible contamination of soil. <br /> ' 3.
