At last weeks meeting a letter dated October 24, 1996 from the CVRWQCB was <br /> also presented to Chevron. The letter summarized current-groundwater conditions at the site, cited four <br /> issues pertaining to Chevron's past activities, and stated that Chevron is considered ineligible for State <br /> Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Funds. By way of this letter,I would like to present Chevron's plans <br /> for further action at the subject site,provide an associated time schedule.for these actions, and respond to <br /> the four issues raised in the CVRWQCB's letter. <br /> Future Plans <br /> Chevron will proceed to meet water quality goals for the subject site according to the Workplan for Soil <br /> and Groundwater Remediation dated August 31,_1995 by Geraghty&Miller. The workplan will be <br /> carried out with the understanding that it has been preliminarily approved by your agency as an expanded <br /> feasibility study/interim remediation workplan. A final:corrective action plan will be submitted which <br /> describes the results of the interim remediation andwhich discusses the feasibility of proceeding as <br /> originally described in the August, 1995 workplan. A schedule for these activities is presented below: <br /> Perform drilling of all remediation(SVE/sparge)wells: week of November 11, 1996 <br /> Install subsurface remediation piping and abatement equip: week of November 18, 1996 <br /> Start-up remediation system: prior to November 29, 1996 <br /> Submit System performance summary/CAP: prior to May 30, 1997 <br /> Reply to CVRWQCB Letter(10/24/96) <br /> The following replies are intended to address those four issues presented in the CVRWQCB's letter and <br /> are numbered similarly. <br /> Re3ryc;��z�ica <br />
