4 <br /> 2905 W Benjamin Holt Drive, Stockton, California March 24, 1994 <br /> Chevron USA Products Company Page 3 <br /> 3.0 ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT WORK <br /> 31 Site-Specific Health And Safety Plan/Background Review/Permitting <br /> Groundwater Technology revised the existing site-specific Health and Safety Plan required by the <br /> Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency <br /> Response" guidelines (29 CFR 1910 120) The Health and Safety Plan was revised by Groundwater <br /> Technology personnel, following a complete review of site conditions The document was reviewed and <br /> signed by all Groundwater Technology personnel and subcontractors prior to performing work at the <br /> site <br /> Groundwater Technology conducted a technical review of all pertinent information prior to proceeding <br /> with assessment work at the site Off-site agreements for groundwater monitoring well Installation and <br /> operation were obtained through the City of Stockton and SJCPHS-EHD Well installation permits <br /> obtained from the City of Stockton and the SJCPHS-EHD are included in Appendix A <br /> 3.2 Soil Boring <br /> On December 13, 1993, Groundwater Technology supervised the drilling of one 30400t sod boring using <br /> a truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 8-inch-diameter hollow-stem augers All drilling equipment was <br /> steam cleaned prior to drilling and sampling equipment was washed between sampling intervals <br /> All rinse water generated from steam cleaning was temporarily stored in Department of Transportation <br /> (DOT)-approved 55-gallon drums on site The water was removed from the site on January 18, 1994 <br /> and transported to the Chevron refinery in Richmond, California for recycling Soil from the boring was <br /> placed on and covered with plastic sheeting on site pending characterization Approximately one-half <br /> yard of soil was removed from the site on January 5, 1994 by Integrated Waste Management, Inc and <br /> transported to BFI landfill in Livermore, California for disposal <br /> —J� GROUNDWATER <br /> 3831SUM RPT �� �'� TECHNOLOGY <br />
