ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> REMEDIAL SYSTEM PERFORMANCE EVALUATION (ARCO) <br /> Sod vapor extraction (SVE) and air sparging (AS) were initiated on January 1, 1995 and May 5, 1995, <br /> respectively A groundwater extraction (GWE) system was in operation onsite between 1991 and <br /> 1996 A brief description and performance evaluation of the remedial system between April 9, 2003 <br /> and June 19, 2003 is presented below Field data is presented in Attachment 1-A <br /> SVE System <br /> The SVE system is comprised of 14 SVE wells (V-1 through V-13, and E-6) and an Airex Katox 100 <br /> catalytic oxidizer The SVE system is permitted by the San Joaquin County Unified Air Pollution <br /> Control District (SJCUAPCD) Permit to Operate #N-3601-1-0, which expires on December 31, 2004 <br /> The SVE system was restarted on March 15, 2000, after being off due to high groundwater elevations <br /> rendering operation not feasible The system was shut off in October 2000 due to low influent <br /> concentrations and remained off through January 16, 2001 The system was again restarted and <br /> operated through March 1, 2001, when the system was again shut off due to low influent <br /> concentrations SVE system influent data is presented in Tables A-1 and A-2, and a plot of SVE <br /> system influent soil vapor TPHg, benzene, and MtBE concentrations versus time is shown as Figure <br /> A-2 A plot of cumulative mass removal data is presented in Figure A-1 SVE system performance <br /> data is included in Table A-1 SVE emission data is presented in Table A-3, and SVE operational data, <br /> including well open/closed status, flow rate, and applied vacuum data, are presented in Table A-4 <br /> Air Sparging System <br /> The AS system is comprised of 9 AS wells (S-1 through S-9) and a MD Pneumatics Model 3202 7 5- <br /> hp blower During the second quarter 2003, the AS system was fully operational AS system <br /> operational data, including well open/closed status, flow rate, and applied pressure data, are <br /> presented in Table A-5 Monitoring well dissolved oxygen (DO) data is included in Table A-6 <br /> Treatment system field data sheets are included as Attachment 1-A <br /> Attachments Table A-1 - Sod Vapor Extraction System Performance Data <br /> Table A-2- Soil Vapor Extraction System MtBE Removal Data <br /> Table A-3- Soil Vapor Extraction System Emission Data <br /> Table A-4- Soil Vapor Extraction System Well Data <br /> Table A-5- Air Sparging System Well Data <br /> Table A-6- Monitoring Well Dissolved Oxygen Data <br /> Figure A-1 - Soil Vapor Extraction System Mass Removal Trend <br /> Figure A-2 - Soil Vapor Extraction System Hydrocarbon Concentrations <br /> Attachment 1-A - Remedial System Field Data Sheets <br />
