Soil samples were
screened in the field for organic vapors with a PID. The ends of the
tubes were covered with foil, plastic caps, and tape to provide an
air-tight seal. These samples were stored on ice from collection
through delivery to Eureka Laboratories, Inc., a state-certified
analytical laboratory in Sacramento, California. The hollow-stem
augers were steam-cleaned prior to use at each borehole. Prior to
each use, all soil sampling equi=pment was washed with laboratory
detergent and tap water, then rinsed with deionized water. Pending
results of the analytical tests:, cuttings from each borehole were
containerized and sealed in 55-gallon drums and temporarily stored on
site.
r-
i
i
k
t
i!
