underlie the area and unknown well construction details for some of the
wells, it is not possible to conclude that no dissolved gasoline
constituents could migrate into adjacent water supply wells.
Four of the nine wells in the site vicinity are used for drinking
water. The nearest well is a City of Stockton municipal water supply
well (20M2) located approximately 530 feet north of the site, near the ;
"W northeast corner of Benjamin Holt Drive and Plymouth Road. This well is
drawing from an aquifer 295 to 353 feet below the ground and has a
sanitary surface seal to 55 feet below the surface in a clay interval
that continues to a depth of 72 feet. The clay serves as additional
protection from contamination in the shallow ground water under the
site. Another City of Stockton municipal well (20F1) is located in
Swenson Park Golf Course, about i/2-mile northeast of the site. This
well is drawing from aquifers at 85 to 403 feet below the ground
level. information on the sanitary seal of this well was unavailable.
A San Joaquin County Flood Control well. (201.1) is located 1/2-mile east
of the site on Belmont Place, This well is drawing water from an
aquifer 272 to 328 feet below the ground and has a sanitary seal to
 .
35. feet below the surface. The fourth drinking water well (20J1), also
run by the San Joaquin County Flood Control District, is located approx-
imately 1-mile west from the site. No drilling information was
available on this well.
Both Flood Control wells (20L1 and 20J1) have been sampled between
November 28, 1984 and January 16, 1985 and analyzed for dissolved hydro
a✓ carbons according to EPA Methods 601 and 602. No evidence of hydro-
carbon constituents (benzene, toluene, or xylene) was detected. It is
w. EMCON's understanding that the two C`.ty of Stockton wells (20M2 and
20F1) have never been analyzed for dissolved gasoline constituents. -
However, general ground-water quality parameters were available for
these wells. (All available sampling reports are included in
Appendix B.)
'JD 438-22.04 4 '
tes
Ef11COfl Rssocio
