The water sample was collected directly from the discharge valve between the <br /> pump and the separator tank. The sample was analyzed for benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, <br /> and xylene by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 602 and !otal <br /> petroleum fuel hydrocarbons by EPA Method 8015, modified. The benzene concentration <br /> in this sample exceeds the California Department of Health Services Drinking Water Action <br /> Level, of 0.7 parts per billion, established in January am1987. A!1 other constituents a <br /> below detection limits or below the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, <br /> �- Central Valley Region suggested levels in a liquid for the protection of groundwater quality <br /> (revised September 1987).
