The wells were purged of a minimum of three well volumes, if <br /> possible,or until trey went drv. A well volume is defined as the amount of groundwater in the <br /> well casing and in the filter pack, at an assumed porosity of 35 percent. Measurements of pH, <br /> speck conductance,and temperature of the groundwater were taken at regular intervals during <br /> pumping.
