Item 14.1.1 on
the agenda addressed the poor conditions at Tracy High School (THS) boys and girls locker rooms. My
daughter is a Sen for at THS. Along with other students, staff, and parents trying to convince the
Board to address these issues, wrote a letter to the Board. has mentioned the the
conditions were bad. However, I had no idea conditions could be as horrible as they actually are. Attached
is the power point presentation from the Board Meeting, please notice the pictures. Unfortunately, the
pleas fell upon deaf ears.
There is a political battle over these issues and it is not my intent to evolve any of you in this matter. I am
contacting you in the hope that someone will investigate the facility for possible health issues. I want to
know:
• Has my daughter, other students, and Staff been exposed to mold that can threathen their health or
lives?
• Is there lead in the paint? If so, can this be a health issue?
• Is there lead in the rusty pipes. If so, is this a health issue?
The Tracy Unified School District Superintendent, Dr. Franco, has be pressured into beginning repairs when
there was no plan to do so. Also, I am not convinced that Dr. Franco was not aware of the issues for quit
some time. Now that repairs have begun, are hazardous materials, if any, handled properly? Again, my
concern is the health of my daughter as well as other innocent students and Staff forced to perform daily
functions in these horrible conditions.
Thank you in advance for your attention regarding this matter.
Sincerly,

Back to work after baby— how do you know when you're ready
9/1/2009
