(Delta), has been conducting an on-going investigation of soil and <br /> ground water at the above-referenced site (Figure 1) since 1993. The investigation activities are being <br /> performed by Delta for Exxon Company U.S.A. (Exxon),at the request of the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD)I. Based on Delta's Site Closure Request <br /> Report, dated September 18, 1996, and the approval of closure letter from San Joaquin County dated <br /> November 7, 1996 (Enclosure A), Delta is submitting the attached permit application to properly destroy <br /> the four remaining monitoring wells. The location of the wells (1�IW-3 through MW-6) are shown in <br /> Figure 2. <br /> i <br /> The four monitoring wells will be destroyed by removing the existing well covers (steel manholes), followed <br /> by overdrilling each well to it's total depth of approximately' 25 feet (MW-3), 25 feet (MW-4), 28 feet <br /> (MW-5), 20 feet (MW-6) with 12-inch hollow stem augers! Well construction details are included in <br /> Enclosure B. The drilling will be performed with a truck-mounted, hollow stem auger drilling rig. Upon <br /> completion, the overdrilled monitoring well boreholes will be backfilled to the surface grade with cement <br /> grout slurry as required by PHS-EHD. <br /> C � <br /> Attached is a complete drilling permit application and required fee o : 60.00.
