1 <br />' QUARTERLY SUMMARY REPORT <br /> Exxon Service Station 7-3330 <br /> 3128 West Benjamin Holt Drive <br />' Stockton, California <br /> December, 1991 <br />' January, 1992 <br /> BRIEF HISTORY <br />' • The site was an active Exxon Retail Service Station from 1968 to 1991 As a part of the <br /> process of returning the lease to the owner, the service station building was demolished <br /> September 30, 1991 The underground fuel storage tanks, the waste oil tank, the pumps <br />' and the product pipelines were removed October 9, 1991 The tank excavation has been <br /> covered with plastic since October 9, 1991 <br />' • Ten soil borings were drilled in 1991 Of these, six were converted into monitoring <br /> wells These wells were installed and sampled according to the regulatory guidelines and <br /> protocol <br />' WORK DONE THIS PERIOD <br /> • In preparation for the soil excavation activities, two monitor wells, MW-1 and MW-2, <br /> were permitted to be abandoned The wells were abandoned on November 7, 1991 <br /> MW-2 was abandoned by overdrilling the casing, removing the casing and filter pack, <br /> and grouting the hole with a grout of bentonite chips which were hydrated Overdrilling <br />' was attempted on MW-1, but due to the proximity of of MW-1 to the excavation pit, <br /> overdrilhng was unsuccessful MW-1 was succesfully abandoned using pressure <br /> grouting techniques with a bentonite slurry <br />' • A public meeting was held on December 4, 1991 in Stockton to discuss the Soil <br /> Remediation Proposal, submitted to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Division in September 1991 <br /> • The soil stockpile was sampled December 9, 1991 and the soils were removed from the <br /> site on December 14, 1991 Transportation was performed by Dillard Trucking, Inc of <br />' Byron, California, a licensed hazardous materials hauler The material was transported to <br /> licensed Class II and Class III facilities <br /> PLANNED SITE ACTIVITIES <br />' • Site remediation by soil excavation <br />' • Continuation of quarterly groundwater sampling and analysis <br /> • Preparation of a proposal to address groundwater issues <br /> 1 <br />
