SVE PILOT TEST CALCULATIONS
0 November 14, 1995
I
Former Exxon Service Station No. 7-3330
3128 West Benjamin Holt Drive
Stockton, California
I EMPOse
These calculations are performed to estimate the petroleum hydrocarbon removal rates achieved during the
SVE pilot testing on monitoring well MW-5.
II Test Well Soil Vapor Flow Rates:
Soil vapor velocities and temperatures were measured at the effluent stack during each test using an
anemometer and a thermometer. This data which is presented below will be used to calculate the average
soil vapor flow rate from each of the four well casings. Field data sheets are included in Enclosure F.
Test Well Time Soil Vapor Velocity Soil Vapor Temperature
ft/min (°F)
MW-5 8:45 a.m. 1,425 62
9:15 a.m. 1,400 65
9:45 a.m. 1,500 65
• 10:15 a.m. 1,550 65
10:45 a.m. 1,600 65
11:15 a.m. 1,500 65
11:45 a.m. 1,550 65 -
12:45 a.m. 1,650 65
Average 1,522 64.6
Let: D = Effluent stack diameter
A = Effluent stack cross sectional area
Q = Average effluent soil vapor flow rate
V = Average effluent soil vapor velocity
T = Average effluent soil vapor temperature
R13rool.8to
