It will make for a more productive meeting if
you provide information on the off site plume on Beverly Place and greater details on the
onsite UST that was removed. Below is an e-mail I sent to Anne late last year that
outlines the details we need.
Mike
*-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anne,
Clover School, Tracy
After conferring with my supervisor and others in the Schools unit, the consensus is that
a Preliminary Endangerment Assessment (PEA) for this school site is necessary due to:
1. Possible presence of arsenic from past agriculture practices before 1950.
2. UST removal on the school site. The Case Closure Summary Report provided in the Phase
I report is inadequate (even with RWQCB concurrence) in satisfying our concerns because
insufficient detail was provided. The closure report necessary to satisfy our concurrence
would have to include maps showing location of UST and soil/groundwater sampling points,
and other details including depth of UST, whether associated pipes were also removed,
depth of samples, and sample quality assurance/quality control.
3. The groundwater plume originating from 104 West Beverly. Athough we received verbal
assurance on Oct. 22, 2004 from the consultant that the plume was well defined and limited
in extent, data is needed to verify this condition.
1
