SITE CONTAMINATION WORK PLAN
Weldon Church, Inc.
104 West Beverly Place
Tracy, California
February 1995
1.0 INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request of Mr. Weldon Church, property owner, Geological Audit
Services, Inc. (GeoAudit) has prepared this Site Contamination Work Plan for excavation
of the former underground storage tank (UST) are and the drilling and installation of three
groundwater monitoring wells at 104 West Beverly Place in Tracy, California (the site). The
site location is illustrated on Figure 1. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2.
2.0 BACKGROUND
2.1 Site Location
The site is located in a residential area of central Tracy, California, in San Joaquin County
(Figure 1). One house and a detached garage/storage area are currently located on the
property. An apartment complex is located immediately west of the site; residences are
located to the south and east of the site.
2.2 Underground Storage Tank Removal
It is our understanding that one small capacity (less than 550-gallons) UST was installed at
the site in the early 1980's. The tank was used to fuel vehicles associated with Church
Refrigeration, a company owned and operated by Weldon Church. The tank was removed
in early 1988. Groundwater was encountered in the tank excavation and one soil and one
water sample were collected in August 1988.
Both samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline, Stoddard
solvent, paint thinner, diesel, kerosene and motor oil as well as benzene, toluene and xylenes
(BTX). TPH as gasoline, toluene and xylenes were detected in the soil sample at
concentrations of 530 ppm (parts per million), 21,000 ppb (parts per billion) and 79,204 ppb,
respectively. TPH as gasoline, benzene, toluene and xylenes were detected in the water
sample at concentrations of 117,000 ppb, 10,100 ppb, 11,300 ppb and 9,330 ppb,
respectively.
0-66.1 A..W S-si I...
SC.9S-01-1065.02/W61DON CHURCH wPW
1
