Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc . - -
09 July 2007
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0106 ,
Ms. Vickie McCartney
San Joaquin
Main County
Environmental Health Department PCRO V lilavr
600
Stockton, California
Subject: Soil Vapor Survey Work Plan -Addendum
WELDON CHURCH PROPERTY
104 West Beverly Place,Tracy, California
Dear Ms. McCartney:
At the request of Mr. Weldon Church,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared the
enclosed Soil Vapor Survey Work Plan-Addendum for 104 West Beverly Place,Tracy,California.
The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1. This addendum proposes to modify the scope of
work of the original AGE prepared Soil Vapor Survey Work Plan dated 25 April 2007.In the original
scope of work, AGE proposed to advance fifteen soil borings for collection of soil and soil vapor
samples to determine the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impact to soil present beneath the
site and assess the threat of vapor intrusion to the house located near the source area.
AGE will make the following modifications to the original work plan as directed in the San Joaquin 04.
°t
County Environmental Health Department(EHD) letter dated 23 May 2007 (Appendix A): a -
E d rL,s
•
Soil vapor samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasolinefPH-g),
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX), and naphthalene and methyl tertiary-
butyl ether(MTBE).
• For soil collection and analysis, instead of advancing borings to three feet below surface
grade (bsg) to collect one soil sample, continuous cores to six feet will be collected to
provide information from the capillary fringe.
In addition,AGE proposes to eliminate the borings along the north(front)side of the house for the
following reasons:
• The highest concentrations of adsorbed petroleum hydrocarbons in soil are along the south
(back) and east side of the house, nearest the former underground fuel storage tank. If any
petroleum hydrocarbon-impact is detected in soil vapor, it would be greatest in these areas;
837 Shaw Road, Stockton,California 95215
`telephone(209)467-1006 Fax(209)467-1118
