(AGE) on your behalf. During this review, EHD discovered that
it does not have the field logs for B5 (MW-5) and B-6 (MW-6), and the laboratory
analytical results for soil samples collected during the excavation in August 1995. Please
submit these field logs and laboratory results to EHD by March 7, 2007.
Based on the non-detect groundwater results for all chemicals of concern for groundwater
samples collected from MW-2, MW-3, MW-5, MW-6 (upper and lower), and MW-7,
from 1997 to September 2006, AGE recommends in Quarterly Report — Third Quarter
2006, dated December 15, 2006, that these monitoring wells be sampled semiannually
instead of quarterly. Instead, EHD recommends a reduction for sampling these
monitoring wells from quarterly to annually. EHD approves the removal of tertiary-butyl
alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), ethyl
tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) from the analytical list of
compounds for all seven monitoring wells associated with this site. Please continue to
collect depth to water measurements in all wells during each quarterly groundwater
monitoring event for the purpose of determining the groundwater gradient.
AGE also recommends conducting a slug test to derive hydraulic conductivities for
groundwater modeling, and preparation of a soil vapor intrusion study to evaluate the
threat of vapor intrusion inside existing buildings located near the source area. EHD
approves these recommendations. Please submit these results to EHD by April 30, 2007.
