02 December 2009
AGE-NC Project No. 96-0106
for a period of onp month following completion of the last ISCO application. The proposed wells
will be monitoriand sampled for the parameters and constituents listed in section 3.4.The purpose
of the sampling events is to monitor the progress of the application and to evaluate if secondary
metals are being mobilized due to oxidant treatment.
3.7. REPORT PREPARATION
Following the conclusion of the ISCO pilot test, a report will be prepared documenting the well
installation, documenting the ISCO injections and presenting the findings. The report will include
a description of work performed and the results of the soil—aniffYor groundwater sampling and NJ
analysis; conclusions and recommendations will also be included, if applicable. The report will be
in a format acceptable to the EHD, and will be reviewed and signed by a California Professional
Geologist.
4.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative and under the supervision of a
California Registered Professional Geologist.Procedures for the installation of one monitoring well,
collection of background/baseline sampling, injection of the RegenOxTM media, weekly ground
water monitoring and sampling, and equipment decontamination are outlined below.
4.1 PRELIMINARY AQUIFER VOLUME TESTING
Prior to ISCO pilot test injection, a clear water injection will be performed at the site utilizing well wk,
MW-3. The stratigraphy encountered at well MW-3 represents the general site stratigraphy and the
dissolved plume does not extend east to well MW-3, therefore, this well location is suitable for 11)ON4
liquid injection evaluations. Based on manufacturer recommendations for the lower sand interval
(Appendix H),AGE proposes to inject 365 gallons of clear potable water(1.25 times the proposed u)a'yS k'
volume ofwater combined with RegenOx for a single boring location:approximately 1,450 gallons/5 Iv&;l R 9
locations x 1.25=365 gallons)which will be procured from the site.Prior to the injection the water
will be sampled and analyzed for TPH-g,BTEX,fuel oxygenates, and lead scavengers to ensure that
the clear water is pollutant free.
Once it is determined that the clear water is pollutant free 365 gallons of water will be placed in an
pre-fabricated water trailer. The water will be metered from the proposed source into the water tank
utilizing a Sensus flow meter. Once the appropriate volume of water has been metered into to the
holding tank the well will be fitted with a pressure cap that has been retrofitted with a hose. The hose
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
