O1 July 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0106
the north, however, the general lack of rdetection of hydrocarbons in the-MW-7, MW-6,
L. MW-5 and MW-3 wells shows that the plume is not'wide-spread and has not migrated
northeast of MW-4 or northwest of the former UST pit.
• The extent ofthe plume around MW-4 is constrained by data from MW-6 toward the north-
northeast, MW-5 toward the southwest.and MW-7 toward the east relative to MW-4..The
northwestern.extent of the plume from MW-4 is not well constrained.
.,The results of this and previous monitoring events and previous soil investigations leads AGE to
conclude that:
The hydrocarbons encountered-in ground water samples from MW'l and MW-4 represent. -
a northward extension of the hydrocarbon-impacted ground water that had already reached
its current extent at the time-the monitoring well system was installed beginning in 1996.
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
' • n this and previous site investigations,AGE recommends.continued quarterly montoring of
, Based o p g q Y
the monitoring well network; the next monitoring-event should be scheduled for August 2002.
An AGE-prepared Revised Work Plan far Soil and Ground Water Investigation -Addendum,dated
04 January 200% has been approved by the EHD by letter dated 23 April 2002. The scope of work
includes advancing several soil borings to define the lateral extent of hydrocarbon-impacted ground ;
water and establish a vertical sequence of soil lithology to delineate potential'permeable pathways.
Upon pre-approval of costs from the California State Underground Storage Tank Clean-up Fund,
AGE will schedule the'approvedwork with the EHD.
6.0.
