r • •
• Each sample will be logged on a chain-of-custody record that will also indicate the
sample ID, date and time of collection and the sampler signature.
• After the completion of sample collection, a laboratory provided custody seal will be
placed on each sample container.
• Containers will be placed into zip locked baggies to maintain a dry environment.
• Sample containers will be placed into appropriately sized coolers equipped with foam
inserts to prevent container breakage. The coolers will be equipped with blue ice or
bagged ice to maintain a cooler temperature of 4 degrees Centigrade. The cooler will
be maintained to prevent the accumulation of water and the entry of water into sample
bags. Coolers will be hand-delivered to the laboratory for analysis.
• Purge water will be discharged to land onsite.
Analysis Methods
The following is a summary of the analysis methods required for the North Lathrop
Specific Plan sampling:
Sampling Parameter Method of Sampling Container Holding Times
Analysisr250mL
e Preservative
Ammonia EPA 350.2plastic Sulfuric Acid 28 da s
Bicarbonate alkalinity, EPA 310.1/ plastic Unpreserved 14 days
Hydroxide alkalinity, SM2320B
Total alkalinity
Chloride, Nitrate,Nitrite, EPA 300.0plastic Unpreserved 48 hours
Phosphate, Sulfate,
Bromide, Fluoride
Methylene blue activated EPA 413.1 250 mL plastic Unpreserved 48 hours
substances
Sulfite EPA 351.3 250 mL plastic Unpreserved 24 hours
Total dissolved solids EPA 160.1 250 mL plastic Unpreserved 7 days
Total Kjeldahl nitrogen EPA 351.2 500 mL plastic Sulfuric Acid 28 days
Total coliform organisms EPA 9221 250 mL plastic Unpreserved 6 hours
Fecal coliform organisms EPA 9221 250 mL plastic Unpreserved 6 hours
Trihalomethanes EPA (3)40 mL glass Hydrochloric 14 days
8260B Acid
Aluminum,Barium,Boron, EPA 250 mL plastic Nitric Acid 6 months
Calcium,Iron,Chromium, 6010B
Copper,Lead,Manganese,
Magnesium,Potassium,
Sodium, and Zinc
H, EC, temperature Parameters collected from field meter
