r <br /> f <br /> 8. Check in and outwith the SSU upon arrival and departure. <br /> 9. Perform decontamination procedures completely as required by this SSHP. <br /> 10, Notify the SSO immediately if them is an accident that causes an iniury or illness, <br /> DECONTAMINATION <br /> Decontamination will take place in the decontamination area identified on site. All workers, <br /> PPE,sampling equipment,and heavy equipment leaving the exclusion area will be decontaminated <br /> to prevent the spread of hazardous materials. All workers will wash hands,arms and face after <br /> removing PPE and prior to leaving the site. Disposable items will be bagged for disposal along <br /> with other hazardous wastes removed from property. Sampling equipment will be decontaminated <br /> using a laboratory grade detergent. Support vehicles are to be left outside the exclusion area so that <br /> decontamination will not be necessary. All heavy equipment will be steam cleaned prior to removal <br /> from the site. There are no special emergency decontamination procedures anticipated for this <br /> project. <br /> EMERGENCE' PROCEDURES <br /> In the event of an emergency on site,the SSO will direct the course of action. It may be <br /> necessary for the SSO to depend on the other on-site personnel for assistance. The 550 will call <br /> for emergency assistance if needed. As soon as practical,the SSO will contact the PM and the <br /> HSO. All staff assigned to this project will be briefed on the procedures and responsibilities for <br /> implementation. A map showing the location and route to the hospital is included as Figure 2. <br /> i . <br /> The SSO is trained in first aid and CPR. A fust aid kit and fire extinguisher will be located in <br /> the field vehicle. Also,the driller will have at least two Circ extinguishers available near the drill <br /> rig. 'The emergency shut-off switch for the drill rig will be identified,and all field personnel <br /> working in the area will be informed of its location and function during the site safety briefing. <br /> The nearest telephone is located inside the store. The emergency telephone numbers to be used to <br /> call for assistance are Iisted in the section on Key Personnel.and Responsibilities with the reference <br /> list of project contacts. <br /> j <br /> € DOCUMENTATION <br /> The implementation of the SSHP must be documented to assure employee particip?` and <br /> ? protection. In addition,the regulatory requirements must be met for recordkeeping on t'. ,g, <br /> medical surveillance,injuries and illnesses,exposure monitoring, !tl:risk information,ani <br /> respirator fit-tests. Documentation of each employee's activities isa,aintained by the HSO in <br /> Sacramento,California. <br /> Documentation of the implementation of this plan will be accomplished using Attachments A <br /> through E.
