Site
investigation began with the June 2000 installation of three-groundwater monitoring wells
onsite. These wells have been sampled quarterly since installation; groundwater samples
have been analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbon constituents and fuel oxygenates. The
main contaminant of concern has been methyl tertiary butyl ether (MtBE). Concentrations
of MtBE in the groundwater samples have been non-detect in MW-3 and at or below the
maximum contaminant level for MtBE in public drinking water in MW-2 and MW-1 for over
three years.
Please have your consultant prepare a closure report for this site. The report should
include all information listed in the Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations Appendix
A, No Further Action Required Documentation, a receptor survey and calculations of
contaminant mass remaining in both soil and groundwater.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209)468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS MargLagouperyising REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
cc: James Barton, PG, CVRWQCB
Vern Elarth, URS Corporation
