Violett, R.E.H.S.
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES
Post Office Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
Re: McDonald Island Site
Dear Ms. Violett:
Pursuant to our visit of the above-described site yesterday, we located
at least two (2) 5 gallon buckets that appeared to be near full of
water, waste oil and used oil filters. Since these buckets could
conceivably overflow should more rain fall, we discussed how best to
prevent this.
Please let me know if the following is acceptable:
My client will transfer each of these buckets into a larger metal
or plastic container that can be closed or sealed. These new
containers will be marked and left at the approximate same site as
were the buckets. Since the only apparent hazardous substance is
waste oil, the workers who will do this work will have minimal
protective gear which will include gloves and a face
shield/goggles.
If the above meets with your approval, please respond in writing at your
earliest convenience so that we may quickly accomplish this preventative
measure.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Very truly yours,
BREWER, PATRIDGE, GERLOMES & HERRICK
An Association of Attorneys
By
OHN HERRICK
JH/tb
cc: Mr. Edward Zuckerman
