UPON <br /> TAILING THE CRAB HOME TO CLEAN IT, THE COMPLAINANT DISCOVERED THAT THE CRAB WAS SPOILED AND <br /> HAD AVERY BAD SMELL. <br /> VIOLATIONS AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br /> Items listed on this report as violations do not meet the requirements set forth in the California Health and Safety Code commencing with section 7: <br /> 113700.All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and have the potential to cause foodborne illness.All major violations must be corrected immediately. Non-compliance may warrant immediate closure of <br /> the food facility. <br /> OVERALL INSPECTION NOTES AND COMMENTS <br /> FOOD ITEM--LOCATION --TEMP°F--COMMENTS <br /> No Temperature Data Collected <br /> NOTES <br /> I spoke to manager Larry who was not aware of complaint prior to my visit. i <br /> I spoke to meat department manager, "Tony"who said that a crab was returned by a customer on 1122116. <br /> Returned crab was half opened and did have a smell but yellow crab"innards"were visible. <br /> Crab comes to the facility and is placed in display (on ice)or wrapped and placed in refrigerator(39F). <br /> Packaged crab is kept for sale for 4 days. I observed crab sell by date 1127116. <br /> Crab that is on ice is kept up to 7 days. A freshness check is done every day of all seafood. Staff observes product for <br /> freshness by checking for odor.
