Geological Tec/utus Jnc
Page 5
Tank Closure Testing Report
Project No. 1218.2 I
k August 3,2005 '`
•
The contamination appears to be defined vertically in that the 14 ft samples contain
such low concentrations of TPH-G& MPH-D.
_ • The contamination is roughly defined to the north and northwest of the former
dispenser.
• The contamination is limited to soil and is not likeiy to reach the groundwater table,
which is expected to be approximately 60 to 70 feet bgs.
2. Given the data presented above and given that the source was removed years ago, we
conclude that even though there is some small amount of gasoline and diesel present in
the shallow subsurface, the residual petroleum is stable and will not significantly migrate
any further or impact the site an more then current levels.
p y i
Recommendations
E • Consider the site for no further action.
• However, if remedial action is directed, GTI would recommend limited soil excavation of
' the contaminated soil between 10 and 15 feet bgs. Initial estimates suggest approximately
20 cubic yards of soil are impacted. G
3
5.0 LINIITATIONSs
.r
This report was prepared in accordance with the generally accepted standard of care and
practice in effect at the time Services were rendered. It should be recognized that definition
i and evaluation of environmental conditions is an inexact science and that the state or practice
f of environmental geology/hydrology is changing and evolving and that standards existing at
the present time may change as knowledge increases and the state of the practice continues to
improve. Further, that differing subsurface soil characteristics can be experienced within a
small distance and therefore cannot be known in an absolute 'sense. All conclusions and
recommendations are based on the available data and information:
9 E
The tasks proposed and completed during this project were reviewed and approved by the
local regulatory agency for compliance with the law. No w array ty, expressed or implied, is
made.
. i
