Robert and Mike Strong, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has
prepared this letter to request a temporary suspension of quarterly ground water monitoring at wells
MW-1 through MW-12 and a temporary suspension of additional site assessment activities at Strong
Property, 5157 West Business Loop 205, Tracy, California(site).
As you are aware, costs associated with the cleanup effort at the site are presently reimbursed by the
California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) under the Underground Storage Tank
(UST)Cleanup Fund. However,Robert and Mike Strong were recently notified by the UST Cleanup
Fund that future reimbursements by the State would be delayed as much as 6 to 18 months. Due to
the significant cost of monitoring at the site,Robert and Mike Strong have accrued over$25,000 of
monitoring expenses that has not been reimbursed by the UST Cleanup Fund.
The accrued costs for the quarterly ground water monitoring have caused a great financial hardship
on Robert and Mike Strong.Furthermore, based on the current conditions at the state, it is unlikely
that Robert and Mike Strong will receive any type of reimbursement from the UST Cleanup Fund
before July of 2009.
The Strong Property does not have the financial capabilities to continue quarterly ground water
monitoring or additional site assessment activities until Robert and Mike Strong can receive
reimbursement from the UST Cleanup Fund (i.e. $25,000). Therefore, AGE is requesting a
temporary suspension of quarterly groundwater monitoring and additional site assessment activities
at the site until the most recent reimbursement request is received by Robert and Mike Strong,
effective 01 February 2009.
Your cooperation in this matter would be greatly appreciated and is vital to the continued success
837 Shaw Road, Stockton, California 95215
Telephone (209) 467-1006 Fax (209)467-1118
