(AGE). The
PAR included a review of the domestic and municipal well receptor survey, a site conceptual
model (SCM) which described the extent of the impact to soil and groundwater vertically
and laterally, a section on the potential impact on nearby surface and ground water sources,
and a comparison of 3 soil remediation alternatives and 3 ground water remediation
alternatives:
• Three domestic drinking water wells are located in the nearby area: DW-5157 is
located on site about 230 feet west of the former underground storage tanks (UST).
DW-5225 is located off site about 250 feet north of the site, and DW5055 is located
about 200 feet northeast (down gradient direction) of the site. Although DW5055
has been regularly sampled,AGE was unable to obtain permission to sample the well
from the owner of DW5055.
• AGE concluded the contamination in the soil to be defined both laterally and
vertically. AGE calculated approximately 229 gallons of petroleum hydrocarbons
remained in the soil.
• AGE concluded the groundwater plume to be defined both laterally and vertically.
The PAR did not include a calculation of the contamination mass in groundwater.
The QMR reported continual reduction of the concentrations of Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons as gasoline (ITH-g) and aromatic hydrocarbons in groundwater.
TPH as diesel (TPH-d) increased in monitoring well MW-2 and 11NIW-6 compared to
the previous quarter. Currently only 3 out of 12 monitoring wells (MW-2, MW--5,
and MW-6) have detectable contaminant concentrations, with 78 micrograms per
hter (ug/1) being the highest TPH-g concentration, 1.4 ug/l for benzene, and 1,000
for TPH-d.
• AGE calculated the groundwater flow direction at 10 feet below surface grade (bsg)
to be north-northwest to south-southwest, and the flow direction at 20 feet to be
east-northeast and west-southwest. The dissolved plume has migrated off site in a
northwest direction and may be following a discontinuous sand body at the top
water table approximately 10 to 13 feet bsg.
