O. Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201
PETROLEUM CONTAMINATION NEAR BYRON ROAD AND CORRAL
HOLLOW ROAD, TRACY, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
I appreciate our 18 February 1994 telephone discussions regarding contaminated sites in San
Joaquin County and our plans for closer coordination of our respective efforts to obtain cleanup.
As we discussed, enclosed for your information are three staff memos which describe our review
of files and reports for the following sites which are adjacent to each other:
1. Cintra Group Property
2. Belconte North Subdivision
3. McCormack Property
All three sites have petroleum-contaminated soil, and two have detectable levels of petroleum
constituents in the ground water. You agreed that San Joaquin County will be the lead agency for
soil and ground water investigation and cleanup at these sites.
Also enclosed is the listing for San Joaquin County from our most current "Spills, Leaks,
Investigations and Cleanup" (SLIC) database. The listing notes if we are actively working on the
site, the most recent date of file materials and reports, pollutants at the site, and the phase of the
investigation. The database is far from complete, and I would appreciate your help in updating it
by noting on which sites your department is actively working and any other information you have
about the sites. After you have had time to review the list, I suggest we schedule a meeting to
discuss it. I believe regular meetings between our agencies would be helpful to exchange
information and update each other on specific sites.
When you are ready to schedule a meeting, please call me at(916) 255-3075.
W L , v
WENDY COHEN
Senior Engineer
WLC:wlc
Enclosure
C(07,y
4
4
