Mr. Shelton Gray
California Regional Water Quality Control Board
February 10,2003
Page 2
EPA Method 8021; polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)using EPA'Method 8270 SIMS, and
CAM 17 metals using EPA Methods 6000/7000 series.
Soil sample results will be used to assist in the evaluation of disposal/reuse options according
to applicable government regulations. In the past, petroleum-affected soil associated with
ChevronTexaco's historical pipelines in this vicinity has been accepted for non-hazardous
disposal as Class Il daily cover at the'Waste Management Altamont facility.
Regardless of what disposal or reuse option is selected, soil will be transported from site
stockpile locations using a California- and Department of Transportation-certified hazardous
waste hauler under appropriate manifest or bill of lading procedures, as necessary;
ChevronTexaco will be listed as the generator of these soils. ChevronTexaco anticipates that
removal of soil stockpiles for disposal or reuse should be initiated within four weeks or less
of creation of each stockpile.
Thank you for your consideration.
