GEOMATRIX
Mr .M. Scott Mansholt
Chevron Environmental Management Company
April 15, 2003
Page 2
near the discharge point. Geomatrix staff also placed a sorbent boom across the south end of
the tules to intercept any sheen that might have been present in the tules. No sheen was ever
observed at this location. The pads and boom were removed once no sheen had been observed
at either the north or south ends of the rules. No changes have been observed in the health
status of the tules.
As you are aware, Geomatrix is working with ChevronTexaco to make significant
improvements to the groundwater extraction and treatment system so that future operations
will result in no discharge of a sheen to the detention basin. Please contact either of the
undersigned if you have any questions or require additional information.
Sincerely yours,
GEOMATRIX CONSULTANTS, INC.
Andrew D.
