CLEAfRwAT--,E,R
G R Q_YP, I N C.
Mr. Ron Rowe August 3, 1995
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Department
P.O. Box 388
Stockton, California 95201-0388
Re: Sampling Schedule, Olivarez Property, 300 South California Street, Stockton
Dear Mr. Rowe,
On August 1, 1995 Clearwater Group, Inc. (Clearwater) submitted a Workplan for
Disposal of Stockpiled Soil,Backfilling Excavations, and Additional Site Assessment at the
subject location. The workplan proposes the installation of five additional monitoring wells
to assess the distribution of hydrocarbons in groundwater at the site.
I will begin implementing the workplan upon approval by the San Joaquin County Public
Health Services Environmental Health Department(PHS/EHD). As stated in the workplan,
the work will be conducted in phases, beginning with the characterization and disposal of
stockpiled soil and the backfilling of the excavation. Installation of groundwater
monitoring wells will be conducted in a third phase of work.
Please advise me if PHS/EHD wants the existing three wells sampled during the interim,
before the new wells are installed. It is my understanding that groundwater monitoring on
a quarterly basis is not a current requirement for this site. If that is the case, Clearwater
will sample all wells after the proposed wells have been installed.
If PHS/EHD wishes to initiate a quarterly monitoring schedule, please inform me. Also,
provide me with the first available date in your schedule if you want to be present during
the sampling event. Feel free to contact me at 510-337-8737. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Clearwater Group, Inc.
Crenna S.
