FOOTHILL
ENGINEERING
12793 PADDY CREEK LANE LODI. CA 95240
PH. (209) 368-9381 FAX (209) 367-1163
December 21, 1998
Deborah Cheung
Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund Program
P.O. Box 944212
Sacramento, CA 94244-2126
Claim Number: 8492
Address: 300 California Street, Stockton California
Dear Ms. Cheung,
Thank you for your letter of December 11, 1998 concerning the above stated Cleanup Fund Site.
The last activity on this site was on February 28, 1997. At that event it was determined that the
water table in Stockton has risen to a point over the screens on these monitoring wells. This is a
result of the last two years of over average rain fall in this area. It was determined that the testing
program should be delayed until the water table dropped into the range of the monitoring well
screens.
After conversations with Ron Rowe of San Joaquin County EHD, it was determined that ground
water sampling should be resumed at this time. The sampling of all monitoring wells is
scheduled for December 29, 1998. After these samples have been analyzed, a work plan will be
developed to continue with the cleanup of the site.
Please do not deobligate this claim until a new work plan can be developed for the site. The new
work plan will be developed in the first quarter if 1999 with the aid of the results from December
29.1998 sample analysis. There is an outstanding invoice of$1240 for the February 1997
sampling event that has not been submitted for reimbursement. It will be included in the
reimbursement request for the December 1998 sampling event.
Please contact Ervin Rifenburg at this office (209/368-9381) if you have any question on this
request to keep the Claim Number active.
Sincerely.
FoothiW* 9rvin
cc Mike & Sharon Olivarez,
Ron Rowe, San Joaquin County EHD
1
