WORK PLAN- MW-10 AND -11
PURPOSE
The purpose of this work plan is to provide further Easterly and Northeasterly horizontal
{ delineation of the plume in the 45-80' sand layer.
SELECTION OF LOCATION AND DEPTH OF -10 AND -11
There are three layers of concern. One sand layer at 20-40', another sand layer at 45-80' and the
clays and silts at 90-100' which may receive leachate from the second sand layer above. The
prominent direction of ground water flow is N 60° E with a gradient s=0.004.
The 20-40' sand layer is bounded on the West and the South by the bearing of the gradient. The
20-40' sand layer is bounded on the North by CPT#3. The 20-40' sand layer is unbounded on
the East. The narrowing of the 20-40' sand layer indicates that the horizontal limits will
terminate before reaching new well MW-10. The bore logs for MW-10 will be consulted to see
if a shallow well is needed.
The 45-80' sand layer is bounded on the West and the South by the bearing of the gradient. The
45-80' sand layer is bounded to the North by CPT#5. The 45-80' sand layer is unbounded to the
North/East (bearing of gradient) and on the East. MW-10 and MW-11 will be installed to
provide data for the Northern and Easterly quadrant. The bore logs will be consulted when
drilling, in order to set the tip at the bottom of the sand layer. A 10' screen length will be used to
avoid cross contamination of adjacent sand layers.
The clays and silts below the 45-80' sand layer are bounded on the West and on the South by the
bearing of the gradient and on the North by CPT-3 and on the East by MW-81).
EXECUTION OF -10 AND -11
The proposed well section is located in Exhibit A. The proposed well layout is in Exhibit B and
an isometric layout of the lithology is in Exhibit C. The layout includes the location of all wells
and ept's, and the highest values for TPI-1g, MTBE and 1,2-DCA at depth. The layout also
includes an estimated boundary for TPHg and 1,2-DCA.
Soil samples will be taken on five foot intervals starting at 20' below ground surface to final tip
of well. Soil samples will be tested for BTEX, TPI-1g, Fuel Oxygenates and Fuel Additives.
Well Development will be performed after well installation. Water samples will be taken with
the proceeding quarterly monitoring and tested for BTEX, TPHg, fuel additives, and oxygenates.
Foothill Engineering will obtain permission from the City of Stockton to place MW-10 within
APN#149-095-03 held by the Redevelopment Agency, Foothill Engineering will obtain
permission from Caltrans to install MW-I I between E/B S/R 4 Cross Town Freeway and the off
